What is Central Archiving?

Data Centralization over Network

Today more and more transactions are done over the telephone.  How are you addressing regulatory compliance guidelines? Regulatory compliance is requiring that enterprises store their voice recording data for longer periods of time, while ensuring quick retrieval in the event of dispute or litigation.

Multisuns DCRS provides open architecture with maximum data storage flexibility.  DCRS Central Archiving gives multi-site and multi-national enterprises of the option to consolidate the enterprise-wide calls and call-related information, which are originally stored in different DCRS-9900, DCRS-8000 and TCR-2000 units, to a master storage device formed by disk array (RAID-5), network-attached storage (NAS) or else in the headquarter over the network or across the Internet.

Distinguishing quality of DCRS Central Archiving

Everyday one DCRS-9900, DCRS-8000 call recorder may record thousands of telephone calls and 2-way radio communications, and one TCR-2000 call recorder may record hundreds of telephone calls or meeting room voices.  Once all these calls archives are centralized to a master storage device, the data will grow quickly and take away all available free storage space within a short period of time.  Are you assessing your data usage and developing methods to contain it?  Or, are you throwing more storage resources to tackle the growth?

The DCRS Central Archiving is comprised of the containment strategy that pulls off unwanted calls (speech audio) and calls-related information (database data) stored in CAServer (master storage device) automatically according to data retention period or storage free space threshold.  This containment strategy eases management, administration, cost and compliance without compromising data integrity.

The bandwidth of the network, especially in long-distance condition, influences data transport efficiency. CAServer can be configured to smooth the data transport. For example, only the calls of meeting particular criteria (e.g. calls of transaction) will be centralized. Furthermore, the time of undertaking data transport can be limited to predefined time period (e.g. after-office hours) and bandwidth usage level can be set (e.g. 32kpbs max).

The type of network also influences how data travel between different network points. DCRS Central Archiving includes the edition that organizations can centralize data to the headquarter across Internet with limited network bandwidth. It is suitable for organizations of any scale.
